We started ElderberryMD to make expert-level care coordination available to anyone navigating complex health needs. We believe healthcare outcomes shouldn't depend on your ability to navigate the system alone.
Born from Necessity
In fall 2020, Landon Wiedenman — a 44-year-old healthcare architect specializing in Medicare and Medicaid systems — received a T-cell lymphoma diagnosis.
Landon had spent 10+ years building healthcare platforms. He understood FHIR, HL7, HIPAA, HITRUST. He'd architected Medicare care coordination systems. He'd led 30+ engineers at enterprise healthcare companies. If anyone understood the healthcare system, it was him.
And yet, he faced half a dozen misdiagnoses. His care was fragmented across specialists who didn't communicate. Records were scattered. No one had a complete picture. Getting answers took months.
So he did what any healthcare technologist would do: he built a system that worked.
Using the healthcare infrastructure knowledge he'd spent a decade accumulating, Landon created the first version of ElderberryMD with a team of human coordinators. The model was simple but powerful: aggregate patient data, coordinate across providers, synthesize information, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
The results were extraordinary.
Landon's diagnosis was completed in 6 months — catching his lymphoma at Stage 2, early enough that treatment options opened up and his prognosis fundamentally changed.
He's thriving with regular monitoring and the peace of mind that comes from coordinated care.
ElderberryMD now automates and scales that same proven model using AI, making expert-level care coordination available to anyone navigating complex health needs — whether they're a young cancer patient, a parent managing a child's chronic condition, a professional with a complex diagnosis, or a senior.
If someone like Landon — a healthcare technologist with deep system expertise — nearly fell through the cracks, the system is fundamentally broken for everyone. We're building ElderberryMD to fix that.
