In an emergency, call 911
ElderberryMD is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for one. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. If you are in emotional distress or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.
The Basics
What ElderberryMD is, and who it's for.
What is ElderberryMD?
ElderberryMD is a healthcare concierge and practice-support service. For patients, we handle the work of navigating the healthcare system — researching your condition, coordinating between your providers, keeping your records in one place, preparing you for appointments, and following up on the details. For physician practices, we absorb the administrative burden that pulls clinicians away from patients — records collection, refill and message triage, prior-authorization legwork, and more.
Our Care Team does the work, supported by AI tools that help us move faster and catch what gets missed. The goal is simple: make expert healthcare navigation something everyone can have, not just people who can afford to hire help.
Is ElderberryMD a doctor's office, or do you provide medical care?
No. ElderberryMD does not provide medical care, does not employ physicians to treat you, and does not write prescriptions. We are a coordination and support service that works alongside your existing doctors — we do not replace them.
We help the relationship between you and your physicians work better: organizing your information, handling the back-and-forth, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Your care decisions are always made by you and your licensed clinicians.
Do you diagnose conditions or give medical advice?
No. We facilitate care; we do not diagnose and we do not give medical advice. ElderberryMD helps you gather information, organize your history and questions, research your options, and connect with the right providers — but the diagnosis and the treatment plan come from your licensed clinicians.
When something needs a clinical judgment, we route it to the appropriate provider rather than answering it ourselves. That boundary is deliberate, and it is how we keep you safe.
Who is ElderberryMD for?
ElderberryMD serves two groups who depend on each other:
Patients and their families — anyone managing a new diagnosis, a chronic condition, care for an aging parent, or just the everyday confusion of appointments, referrals, records, and insurance.
Independent physicians and small practices — the doctors who do most of their own administrative work and are being squeezed out by overhead. We help them stay independent by taking that overhead off their plate.
Who actually does the work — people or AI?
People do the work. Our Care Team is made up of real medical assistants, care specialists, and administrative staff — not physicians, and not a chatbot pretending to be one. They make the calls, chase the paperwork, and coordinate your care.
AI works behind the scenes to make that team faster and more thorough: drafting summaries, surfacing evidence, organizing records, and flagging what needs attention. The technology is a tool our staff use — it is never the thing making decisions about your health.
What It Costs
How pricing works for patients and for practices.
How much does ElderberryMD cost a patient?
If your physician's practice uses ElderberryMD, your access is free — no subscription, no credit card, no catch. Practices pay for ElderberryMD so that you don't have to. There are no per-patient fees and no surprise bills.
You can see the full breakdown on our pricing page.
What does it cost a physician practice?
Practices choose a plan based on the support they need. There is a permanently free plan to get started — no credit card required — and paid plans that add more coordination capacity and deeper automation as your volume grows. Plans are billed monthly, per provider, with no setup fees and no long-term contracts.
ElderberryMD is built to be more affordable than the patchwork of tools and staff a practice would otherwise need. See the provider pricing page for current plans and what's included.
Why is it free for patients? What's the catch?
There's no catch. The practices that use ElderberryMD pay for the service, which lets them offer it to their patients at no cost. We also work with sponsors and partners who help support the platform — but that never changes the care you receive, and it never means your health information is sold.
Your privacy is not part of the deal. We do not sell your data, and we never share your health information with advertisers. (More on that in the privacy section below.)
How the Service Works
Getting started, reaching us, and what we handle day to day.
What can ElderberryMD actually help me with?
We handle the coordination work that healthcare leaves to you. That includes researching your condition and your options, finding and scheduling the right specialists, transferring records between offices, preparing you for appointments with the right questions, tracking medications and refills, and following up on lab results and referrals.
We also help with the paperwork side — navigating prior authorizations, coverage questions, and the back-and-forth with your providers — so you can focus on your health instead of the logistics. See How It Works for the full picture.
How do I get started?
If your physician already uses ElderberryMD, you can sign up free and you'll be connected to your care. If your doctor doesn't use us yet, you can still get in touch through our contact form — tell us about your situation and we'll walk you through your options.
Practices that want to bring ElderberryMD to their patients can learn more on the provider page or reach out through the contact form.
How do I reach my Care Team?
You can reach us in whatever way is easiest for you — by phone, by text, or through the web app, where you'll also find your care plan, records, and history in one place. We aim to be available whenever you need us, including outside of normal office hours.
Does ElderberryMD replace my doctor or my insurance?
No. We work with your existing doctors and your existing insurance — we don't replace either one. We don't provide medical care, and we don't sell or administer insurance plans. What we do is make the system you're already in far easier to navigate, so you get more out of the providers and coverage you already have.
I'm a physician. How does this fit with my EHR and my workflow?
ElderberryMD is browser-based and works alongside your existing systems — there's no software to install and no IT project to launch. We absorb the administrative work around your practice rather than replacing the tools you already rely on.
You can explore the full set of practice solutions on the For Providers page, and we'll handle onboarding with you directly.
Safety & Boundaries
Where our service ends and clinical care begins.
What happens in an emergency?
ElderberryMD is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room — always, and first. We are here for the coordination and navigation around your care, not for urgent or life-threatening situations.
What if I'm in a mental-health crisis?
If you are in emotional distress or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. ElderberryMD can help connect you with ongoing mental-health care, but it is not a crisis line and is not a substitute for one.
If you don't diagnose, how do you keep me safe?
By staying firmly on the coordination side of the line. When a question calls for clinical judgment, we don't guess at an answer — we route it to the right licensed provider. Our job is to make sure the right person gets the right information at the right time, and to flag anything that looks like it's being missed so a clinician can weigh in.
Privacy & Your Information
How we handle your health data — and what we will never do with it.
Is my health information private and secure?
Yes. We treat every piece of your health information with HIPAA-grade care. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is logged and audited, and we operate as a Business Associate of the physician practices we work with — bound by signed agreements that hold us to those protections. See our HIPAA Notice and Privacy Policy for the details.
Do you sell my data or share it with advertisers?
Never. We do not sell your health information, and we do not share it with advertisers or ad networks. We don't put third-party tracking pixels on pages that involve your health data. Any analytics we use are first-party only. Your information exists to coordinate your care — not to be monetized.
Who can see my records?
You can. Your records are organized in one place for you, and we share them with your providers only with your consent, so the people caring for you have the full picture. Within ElderberryMD, access is limited to the Care Team supporting you, and every access is logged. You stay in control of who sees what.
Still have a question?
Tell us about your situation and we'll point you in the right direction — whether you're a patient, a caregiver, or a practice.
